MAJOR CHANGES TO THE 2006-2007 HANDBOOK AND CODE OF CONDUCT
.) Cell Phone Policy - Students may possess a phone as long as it is off. In order for students to use their phone all they need to do is come to the office and ask permission. If a student's phone is on, or if they are using their phone without office permission, the phone will be taken up and given to the principal. It will cost $10 for the phone to be returned to the student. All funds will be deposited into a student club account and funds will be used for student awards.
.) Saturday Detention - In order to ensure that our students are not missing valuable class time, Saturday Detention is new to the 2006-2007 school year. Saturday Detention will be an alternative to ISS in cases of minor discipline reports filed in the office. Minor cases include, but are not limited to, excessive tardies, dress code violations, missed ZAP, and missed d-hall. Saturday Detention will be two (2) Saturdays per month and will begin at 8:00 a.m. and end at 12:00 noon. Specific dates will be posted on the Student Message Board outside the High School Office. If a student does Not attend Saturday Detention, the student will be assigned five (5) days ISS.
.) Students with outstanding debt to the school - Students who have a debt with the school for any reason (i.e. books, fines, dues, equipment not turned in, and/or cafeteria charges) will NOT be allowed to participate in any extracurricular activity, this includes practice, until said charges are paid. This policy is effective July 1, 2006.
.) Senior Trip - Seniors with eight (8) days or more of ISS or any AEP assignment will result in failure to attend Senior Trip. These eight (8) days includes any combination of Saturday Detention or ISS.
