Career & Technical Education

Our career and technical education programs offer students the opportunity to take a coherent and rigorous sequence of courses in a field of study that relates to work force industry.  The class content is aligned with challenging academic standards and relevant technical knowledge and skills needed to prepare for further education and careers after high school.  Students can begin taking CTE classes as early as 8th grade.

Iola Secondary School offers course work in the following career clusters:  

  • Agriculture
  • Business
  • Human Services
  • Public Safety

Iola ISD has a shared service agreement with Education Service Center 6 in Huntsville.  As part of the agreement, Iola receives some funding to purchase materials for CTE classes.  Teachers and administrators can also participate in training at the ESC.
