• Technology and Iola ISD

See how technology is developing in our school.

Technology plays an everyday role in our lives, as students, educators, and parents. Our goal is to ensure students use technology to be better prepared for their future beyond their educational career at Iola ISD.

At Iola ISD, we encourage the use of technology in the classroom so students can continually be engaged in new activities in each content area, while learning safe navigation procedures in a constructive environment.

    Classrooms

Each classroom is equipped with at least 2 computers, internet connectivity, interactive Smartboards, and ceiling-mounted projectors.  Students are provided resources that align with the appropriate curriculum for their grade level.

Beginning August 2015, all classrooms will be adding 2 Chromebooks for student use.

    Computer Labs

The elementary computer lab consists of approximately 20 computers with internet connectivity.  Students use this lab daily to expand their learning through online programs.

Beginning August 2015, Elementary will be implementing an additional mobile cart of 24 wireless Chromebooks for student use.

The secondary campus computer lab consists of 25 computers with internet connectivity.  Additionally, the secondary campus has a computer lab of 10 computers that is used for courses such as Yearbook, Dual Credit, and Credit Recovery.  The Secondary Campus has also implemented a mobile cart with 18 wireless laptops and a printing station.

Beginning August 2015, Secondary will be implementing an additional mobile cart of 24 wireless Chromebooks for student use.
