A message from the Superintendent

Dear Bulldog Family:

I hope you are all enjoying the summer.

As many of you already know, on Monday night our school board approved a revised version of our academic calendar for the 2020-2021 school year. The major changes include moving the first day of school from Wednesday, August 19th to Tuesday, August 18th and changing a number of our staff development days to regular/instructional days. This was done in an attempt to make up for some of the lost instructional time in the spring due to COVID. If you scroll down below the pictures on the homepage of our district website, you will see the "2020-2021 Academic Calendar" posted under "Quick Links".

On Tuesday, we received the long-awaited information from the Texas Education Agency regarding operational and instructional guidance for both on-site and virtual learning models. I know everyone is eager to see the details of our district plan, and we hope to have it finalized and published as quickly as possible.

Once the information is posted, you will receive an email with a link to the website containing the plans.

I want to thank the teachers that are working with Mr. Fowler, Mrs. Sajewski, Mrs. Harris, and Mrs. Hurst on some of the specifics of the remote learning model we will be offering to those families that are still not comfortable with attending school in-person/on-campus.

As you probably already inferred from the previous parts of this message, you will have the choice for your children to either come to school or to engage in a virtual learning model that will be more rigorous and structured than the at-home learning offered this past spring. In addition, you will have all the operational and instructional information regarding both instructional models to help you make an informed decision for your family.

I cannot stress enough how much we appreciate your patience through all of this.

Thank you again for loving our students, and working so hard to meet their needs.

It is always a great day to be a Bulldog!
